Laying It Down
Laying It Down
written by Bill Osborne
I’ve been carrying this weight for far too long,
Holding on to the hurt, singing the same sad song.
You cut me deep, left scars on my soul,
But it’s time to heal, it’s time to let it go.
I tried to hide, I tried to fight,
But love’s calling me to make it right.
And though the pain runs deep inside,
I won’t let it steal my joy, my life.
I’m laying it down, all the hurt and the pain,
I’m laying it down, in Jesus’ name.
Forgiveness is a river, it washes over me,
I’m letting go, I’m setting us free.
I’m laying it down.
I’m laying it down.
The chains of anger had me bound so tight,
But I’ve found freedom without the fight.
No more dwelling on what could have been,
I’m choosing grace, I’m letting love win.
I’m not looking back, no more regrets,
His mercy covers all my debts.
In His grace, I find my peace,
Through His love, I’m finally released.
I’m laying it down, all the hurt and the pain,
I’m laying it down, in Jesus’ name.
Forgiveness is a river, it washes over me,
I’m letting go, I’m setting us free.
I’m laying it down.
I’m laying it down.
I’m laying it down, yeah, I’m laying it down,
In His hands, I find my crown.
Forgiveness flows like a healing rain,
I’m laying it down, I’m free again.
I’m laying it down.
I’m laying it down.
