Not of This World

written by Bill Osborne

This world is full of shadows,
And it’s easy to get lost,
But I know where I’m headed,
My Savior bore the cross.
My heart is set on heaven,
Where the light forever shines,
I’m just a pilgrim passing through,
To a place that’s yours and mine.

I’m not of this world, no, I’m not alone,
My heart is longing for my true home.
Where the streets are gold, and the angels sing,
I’m just a stranger here, waiting on my King.
This world can’t hold me, I’ve been set free,
I’m not of this world, no, I’m bound for eternity.

The road can be so weary,
With the burdens that we bear,
But I feel His Spirit near me,
In the silence of a prayer.
This earth may try to bind me,
But my soul is heaven-bound,
Every step I take brings me closer,
To where true peace is found.

When the night is dark and cold,
And the journey feels so long,
I lift my eyes to the sky,
I know where I belong.
For this is not my final place,
I’m headed for His throne,
Where every tear is wiped away,
And I am finally home.

Yeah, I’m not of this world,
Oh, I’m not of this world,
I’m bound for eternity.
I’m not of this world, no,
I’m bound for eternity.
